It is one of only two original paintings of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Sevilla, Spain, to have been shipped back to the United States. It is a neo-impressionistic rendering of one of the nation’s largest and oldest cathedrals. The subject is one of five different aspects painted by artists from sun-up to nightfall in the summer of 1963. Typical of McWilliams work, you will find powerful brushstrokes, choreographed to a masterful and dynamic symphony of intense color and hidden forms.
